As we step into 2025, I’m reflecting on my word for the year: Elevate. For me, this word is a call to raise the bar in each area of my life—my relationships, my business, and the value I bring to the people I serve. It’s about lifting others, amplifying voices, and striving for excellence in my daily interactions.

How to Attract the Right Connections on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is an incredible platform, but simply being present isn’t enough to make it work for you. Whether you’re looking to grow your business, land your next role, or establish your thought leadership, the key is clarity in your personal brand.

Here’s a quick exercise:

1. Audit your headline: Does it immediately tell people who you are, what you do, and the value you offer?

2. Check your profile picture and banner: Are they current? If you walked into a room where people only knew you based on your LinkedIn profile photo, would they recognize you? Do they reflect your personality and profession? Is your banner helping to amplify who you are, what you do, and the value you offer?

3. Post with purpose: Share content that showcases your expertise, but also adds value to your audience. A tip, an insight, or a personal story can go a long way in building trust.

Remember, on LinkedIn, your profile is your first impression. Make it count!

Peek Behind the Scenes: My LinkedIn Workflow

I get a lot of questions about how I stay so consistent on LinkedIn. Here’s a peek at my own workflow (and remember, LinkedIn is my work, so this is what works for me):

1. Content Planning: At the start of the week, I jot down 2-3 topics I want to share. These are inspired by questions I’ve received, client stories, or trends I’m noticing. My Friday and Sunday topics are set (#linkedinnuggets and #fourtofollow), and I make sure to capture any nuggets I come across during the week.

2. Engagement Time: I dedicate several 15-20 minute blocks each day to commenting thoughtfully on my network’s posts, as well as responding to comments on my own content. It’s not just about visibility—it’s about connection and conversation.

3. Analytics Check: Monthly, I review how my posts performed to see what resonates most with my audience. I don’t take this too seriously, but I do use it to tweak my future content strategy if I notice a trend.

The key? Consistency over perfection. You don’t need to post daily or have everything figured out—just start showing up.

This year, let’s commit to elevating ourselves and those around us. Whether it’s through a new connection, a bold idea, or a kind word, small steps have a big impact.
