It's Almost Valentine's Day. Show Your Brand Some Love!
Let's Make Your Brand Authentic and Memorable
February is all about love, so let’s talk about loving your brand. Your personal brand isn’t just about strategy or perfectly polished posts—it’s about being authentic, sharing your knowledge and expertise, and creating connection with your audience.
Ask yourself:
Does your LinkedIn profile reflect the real you, in the best possible light?
Are you creating content that resonates with your audience and aligns with your voice?
Are you engaging in conversations that build real connection? And remember - the comments are where the magic happens on LinkedIn!
Don’t Forget Your Silent Audience — They Can Be Your True Valentines
Speaking of connection, here’s a reminder I hope you’ll take to heart: Your silent audience is always listening.
I know how tempting it is to get caught up in impressions, likes, and reposts. But success isn’t measured by vanity metrics. (Or, as I like to say, likes don’t equal dollars.) The key to LinkedIn success is visibility.
Some of my best clients and collaborations have come from people who never engaged publicly with my content. They were paying attention quietly, taking note of what I was doing, and when the time was right — they reached out.
This month, show your brand some love, and focus on consistency. Show up for your audience (including the silent ones), and trust that your visibility is working in ways you can’t always see.
Content Tip: Seasonal Themes that Work for February
February is full of themes you can tie into your LinkedIn content:
Love and relationships: Who are the people in your life that matter most? Think outside the traditional responses, too.
Random Acts of Kindness Day (February 17): Share a story of mentorship, collaboration, or giving back to your community.
Self-love: Talk about how you’ve invested in your personal growth and development, whether through courses, coaching, or networking.
These themes are universal and can create emotional connections that resonate with your audience.

What’s New on LinkedIn? A Cleaner Profile Activity Section
LinkedIn recently rolled out an update to the "Activity" section on user profiles, making it easier for others to explore your contributions and engage with your content. If you haven’t noticed the change yet, here’s what’s different and why it matters:
A Cleaner, More Visual Layout
The new design showcases your posts, comments, and shared content in a more streamlined, tile-like format.
It’s visually appealing, which encourages visitors to click on your posts and engage further.
Easier Navigation
Previously, it could feel a little clunky to scroll through someone’s activity. Now, the update groups activity in a way that’s easier to view.
Visitors can more quickly find your posts, articles, or interactions.
Enhanced Engagement Opportunities
With a more organized activity section, your profile visitors can get a clear sense of your voice, expertise, and the topics you care about.
This is especially helpful for potential clients, collaborators, or employers who want to gauge your thought leadership and expertise.
A Gentle Push Toward Consistency
Since your activity section is now more prominent and accessible, it’s a good reminder to post consistently.
Regular engagement (whether through posting content, commenting, or reposting) helps keep your profile active and attractive to visitors.
My own Valentine from LinkedIn came early; I recently got the scrolling banner update that I mentioned in my December newsletter. Now I have two different images on my banner; one for my business, and one for my book. Do you have this update now? I believe this will be available only to Premium members, and the rollout is continuing to reach more and more users.
