Spring Forward: Your Brand's Time To Shine
Your Brand Deserves Some Spring Cleaning, Too!

March is here, and with it comes the familiar pull to refresh, refocus, and maybe even shake up how we show up. It’s the month where winter lingers, but spring starts pushing through—kind of like our best ideas, waiting for the right moment to bloom.
Speaking of showing up, LinkedIn just quietly dropped a feature that could change how you think about engagement: comment impressions.
If you know me, you know that I believe commenting is just as powerful (if not more so) than posting. Now, it feels like LinkedIn agrees with me! If you want the absolute truth, my initial feelings on this update were mixed. At first, it felt like another KPI for people to get caught up in. But then I gave it a bit more reflection, and I believe this is a positive update. Here’s why:
What Comment Impressions Mean for You
With this update, you can now see how many people view your comments—even on other people’s posts. This is interesting because:
✅ It quantifies what we’ve known all along—thoughtful engagement = visibility
✅ It’s a chance to build your authority without posting daily
✅ It helps you refine your messaging by seeing what resonates
So, what should you do?
📌 Stop dropping “great post!” and start adding real value to conversations
📌 Be intentional about whose posts you engage with—comment where your audience is
📌 Treat comments like mini-posts—ask questions, add insights, share quick wins
This is one of the simplest ways to increase your reach without creating more content. And if you’re already showing up in the comments, now’s the time to double down.

When I snapped this screenshot, my comment had 252 impressions. With the amount of comments I make each day, the extrapolated visibility is exciting!
Spring Cleaning Your LinkedIn Profile: A Quick Refresh for Maximum Impact
Just as we declutter our homes in the spring, our LinkedIn profiles deserve a little freshening up too. Your profile isn’t just a digital resume: it’s your personal brand in action. And if you want to attract the right opportunities, your presence needs to match your current goals.
Here’s a quick LinkedIn spring cleaning checklist to make sure your profile is working for you, not against you:
✅ Headline: Does it clearly communicate what you do and who you serve? If it’s just your job title, consider adding a value statement.
✅ About Section: Is it still relevant? Does it feel personal, engaging, and up to date? (Pro tip: Read it out loud—if it doesn’t sound like you, it’s time for a re-write.)
✅ Profile Photo & Cover Image: Are these still reflective of your brand? If your headshot is outdated or your banner is generic, this is an easy way to refresh your presence in seconds.
✅ Featured Section: Does it highlight your best work? If you have old links, outdated information, or isn’t sharing your biggest accomplishments, now’s the time to update them.
✅ Engagement Strategy: Are you commenting with intention? Engaging with the right people? Check who you’re interacting with and adjust if needed.
A mini challenge: Update just one thing on your profile this week. Then, comment on three posts from people you admire. Small steps lead to big visibility.

The Other Hot Topic On LinkedIn? It’s Video!
Text-based engagement is great, but you know what builds trust even faster? Video.
People trust real people. Video shortens the buyer journey, keeps you top of mind, and makes your message stick. It builds rapport and is a bridge to know, like, and trust. The key? Show up consistently, on brand, and on message.
I get it, many people avoid video because they fear judgment. Here’s the mindset shift: People aren’t scrutinizing you—they’re looking for value.
If you’ve been avoiding video because you’re unsure where to start (or what to say), I’ve got you covered.
This month, along with Julie Morris and David Morris, I’m teaching Confident on Camera, a masterclass designed to help you overcome the hesitation, develop a repeatable strategy, and actually enjoy creating video content.
You’ll walk away with:
✅ 2-10 recorded videos ready to post
✅ A clear, repeatable video strategy
✅ The confidence to stay consistent
📅 Our first session: March 12. Let’s make video a natural part of your brand.
